The speakers will discuss Nutrition as we get older and an Introduction to Easy Chair Movement for Adults.
OUR SPEAKERS
Delacey Foster MS RD – Nutritional Services Manager & Registered Dietitian
Bio – Delacey is a Registered Dietitian with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences and a Master’s degree in Dietetics. Delacey is the Nutritional Services Manager and Registered Dietitian at Mountains Community Hospital. She is also a part-time lecturer at California State University San Bernardino in the Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics department. She is passionate about educating the community and future generations of dietitians, sharing her knowledge and experience with others in ways that empower and motivate them. Everyone should have basic understanding of nutrition. It is one of the most important aspects of our health and wellness.
Topic – Strong Diet for a Strong Body and Mind.
The secrets out! Age is changing our bodies and the outcome may not be as desirable as we’d like. So what
our minds? How do we maintain our sharp, witty, clever selves? Delve into the nutritional science of aging with grace and strength.
Samantha Patterson – Music and Movement Therapist
Bio – Samantha holds a Master’s degree in Music and Movement Therapy and a Sports Movement degree and has worked for many YMCA locations, retiring in 2015. Each YMCA involved extensive training in particular elements of fitness and well-being, such as yoga, Pilates, aerobics, weight training and Healthy Back programs. The Riverside YMCA afforded an opportunity to collaborate with the Arthritis Foundation in programs such as Chair Aerobics, Water Tai Chi and Chair Yoga. She currently offers yoga classes in Blue Jay and Strength Training classes in Running Springs.
Topic – Introduction to Easy Chair Movements for Adults.
Samantha will be talking about movement as a life enhancer and demonstrate Chair Aerobics and Stretching.
Participants will have the opportunity to follow along. The activity is very soft and gentle with a short meditation
